Okay, we're not going to lie we're slightly biased about the last statement. Well without further adeau, shutter soul is proud to announce the new monthly artist and community spotliight.  Just in time for Earth day we're spotlighting the green civic and community organizations dedicated to promoting the environmental health of Chicago for all Chicagoans.

Ravenswood. A hometown in the big city.  Quality over quantity. Ravenswood may lack the retail and restaurant options of nearby neighborhoods, but what Ravenwood lacks in volume it most definitely makes up for in quality. Hidden gems can be found throughout this tree-lined  neighborhood  While Ravenswood may lack the hustle and bustle of nearby neighborhoods Andersonville and Lakeview, there are many surprises in this sometimes sleepy, but always interesting neighhorhood.

From quaint Victorian and Prairie style houses, great neighborhood restaurants, prairie style open parks,  the Lillstreet art center,  antique and art shops along the Ravenswood Ave's industrial corrridor and side streets, Ravenswood 's character always shines through with hometown pride....even in a big city.

Yep folks, it's that time again.  We brave the cold, blustery elements of Chicago again in February to give you this month's neighborhood profile....Ravenswood.

Skylar’s artisan pies range from traditional (think homemade fruit pies, pumpkin and key lime) to custom pies that defy definition and truly symbolize pastry art, such as her latest Chariot Pie....a truffle in pie form featuring creamy chocolate, dried cranberries, cherries and walnuts. Yum.
